The Challenge:
If you’re new to adventure challenges, here is one that gets you outside but doesn’t require hiking equipment and 11 hours of hiking in the woods!
After receiving many requests for this poster over at my shop, I realized there is no **offical** list out there for adventurers to reference. Of course that meant making my own! I did a deep dive into the best waterfalls in the region and complied a list of the most popular ones.
There are A LOT of waterfalls in New York. There are a TON in upstate alone, so know that my list is comprised of the ones that are most accessible to the public and most well-known. Remember – we do not need to include the waterfall only you and your family know about located 100 feet down the road from that red barn where your high school math teacher lived. We are avoiding trespassing!
So, grab your cameras and let’s visit 32 beauties (and order a poster to get your own adventure started)!
The Finger Lakes Region:
Before we get started, let’s remind ourselves of the region we’re looking at. There are 14 counties that encompass the Finger Lakes region; Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Livingston, Monroe, Onondaga, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates.
Please note: some waterfalls are not open during the winter months!
